Howdy and thanks for stopping by!  This is the part where I tell you all about me.  My name is Jeanie, which is pronounced “G”-knee.  Not sure that any woman could ever describe herself briefly, and actually tell you about herself…but here goes. I live in the Appalachian Mountains.  Yes, I am considered a hillbilly.  I am super old fashioned in a lot of ways.  Now that you are picturing me as some barefoot, banjo playing, overall wearing woman, I’ll tell you a little more about myself.  I am a Workforce Manager for a company featured in Forbes.  That’s a real fancy way of telling you that I do scheduling for a small company.  I work remotely from home.

I homeschool my children.  I live in farm country, and it’s pretty common to homeschool these days.  I hold no opinion of others and their choices to homeschool or not!

My husband of 16 years and I have a blended family.  He had a son, I had a daughter, and we had three sons.  That’s the short version. As the saying goes, all moments, good or bad, are temporary.  I’m so glad to share those moments with my husband.  We live next door to my father.  Once a daddy’s girl…always a daddy’s girl.  I have a Great Dane.  I wanted a dog like Scooby my entire life, and now I finally have one!

So far, we’ve covered that I am a wife, mother, daughter, employee, and teacher.  I’m also a gardener.  I love to grow vegetables! I kill flowers, but not with intention.  I’m just really bad with them.

I’m a cook. From down home soup beans with fried green tomatoes to French bread or manicotti…I love to cook!  I love a new recipe that everyone loves.  It’s like a piece of art….that doesn’t last long.

I love Buddhism. I wouldn’t consider myself a Buddhist, but I study it, and I apply a lot of it.  I love yoga and being mindful.  I also swear by Plant Therapy essential oils.  I love simple home remedies.  I love making my own laundry detergent.  I could go on all day.

We do live in the mountains…meaning we hike, we kayak, and use ATVs.  No, we do not make moonshine.  Well…not my immediate family anyway.

I decided to blog as a way to document and share the daily chaos of my life.  It’s a hectic and crazy life, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!  Welcome to my blog!
