I HATE BREAKFAST!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Blah, blah, blah… I hate it.  I hate all breakfast foods.  I hate the greasy meat.  I hate milk…it kills my stomach, lactose issue.  I hate biscuits.  Funny enough, my kids wake up and I’m happy to throw on some pancakes with blueberries and cook up some scrambled eggs served with a tall glass of  milk.  I won’t touch it.  I hate breakfast foods.

Also, I have a healthy breakfast every morning that gives me a massive energy boost and taste delicious.  No, I don’t cook a steak and steam veggies every morning.  I have a smoothie.  Listen, I love my salads.  If it’s green, and not a pepper, I’ll put it in my lunch, but not in my smoothie.  I toss in two cups of frozen strawberries, with a tablespoon of chia seeds. I add half a cup of strawberry yogurt, and I blend!  Three simple ingredients that are stuffed full of what I need to start my day off!

I use a $20 Magic Bullet that I purchased at Wal Mart to mix.  (BEST CHEAP INVESTMENT EVER..I’M CHEAP!)  The mixing cup is also the drinking cup.  No mess, no fuss, and super delicious!  I think people get the idea that to have a smoothie, they must juice and put in 50 ingredients to get the mixture just right.  It’s like Thanksgiving dinner.  The idea is the same, but the side dishes don’t match in everyone’s home.  I have never made a green bean casserole, but me and sweet potatoes are besties on the annual day of giving thanks.

If you like blueberries, use blueberries.  I often do.  You can mix and match your fruit, switch it up, whatever floats your boat. For me, strawberries are my favorite and loaded with vitamin C…as well as potassium and B9, and some other good stuff that you could just Google.  Ever seen a fruit that wasn’t loaded with super vitamins? I haven’t. Don’t forget the calcium and B12 that you get in yogurt, plus all that digestive awesomeness. Chia seeds are loaded with minerals.  The fiber alone is worth it!  Antioxidants…protein…sprinkle those little seeds of awesome on everything!

The moral of the story…my smoothie is a better breakfast than gravy and biscuits.  Just kidding, not really.  On average, buying my ingredients cost me around $2/day.  So much cheaper than purchasing at a shop…as if I lived near a shop and could buy it if I wanted to.  Takes me 2 minutes to make.  I’ve had a $20 Magic Bullet for 2 years.  Add it up…not very expensive, so I don’t feel guilty adding it to my budget.  It is really good for me, and it taste good.  If you hate breakfast with a passion like I do, give it a try!
